Likely GOP presidential nominee John McCain and his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, are traveling to Mississippi on Sunday to check on people getting prepared for Hurricane Gustav.
Since being named to the GOP ticket, Sarah Palin has been dogged by questions of whether she was fully vetted. Our experts weighs in on what makes for an effective hiring process.
Her rating went down after she was nominated, it's called politics. This two party system is the problem with America. They will do what ever it takes to be in the White House... You are plain ignorant if you think either one of these candidates will be change! These parties have not worked together in how many years, and all of a sudden they work a WEEKEND to pass yet another Bill that will cost us millions? I have a story for you:
THE ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER
OLD VERSION:
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house
and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the
summer away.Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. Meanwhile, the grasshopper has no
food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible and plan for the future!

MODERN VERSION:
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house
and saving up for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the
summer away. Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference
and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well-fed while
others are cold and starving.CBS, NBC, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering
grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table
filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is
allowed to suffer so?Congress passes a law requiring banks to give economically deprived
grasshoppers a 'subprime' loan so they too can buy a home like the ant.Nancy Pelosi & John Kerry exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant
has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for the
revocation of recent tax cuts to make the ant and others like him pay their
fair share.Grasshopper has no job and cannot afford the to make the loan payments and
defaults on his loan which causes Wachovia, the ant's bank, to fail. The ant loses his entire savings and his home is foreclosed on and taken away.
Congress passes a 'bailout' plan to prevent low-income grasshoppers from
losing their homes. The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the
ants food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the
ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it.The ant has disappeared into the snow. The grasshopper is found dead in a
drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of
spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.MORAL OF THE STORY: Vote very carefully in 2008.
